For members of the Milaca community in need of help with food or fuel.
Jesus died on the cross to forgive you of your sins! Repent and believe the good news and know true peace, even when money is tight.
Our Lord commands us to help those in need.
As funds are available, St. Paul's offers funds to help with automobile gasoline, and groceries. We typically provide gift cards to local stores. Depending on need, we may pump your gas or shop for you so that our funds are used responsibly.
Due to budgetary limits and risk, we cannot assist with medical bills, utility bills, or rent/mortgage. We do not provide funds for non-essentials like alcoholic beverages, or cigarettes/tobacco. We also do not assist with toys or games, and we do not provide funds for clothing. Instead, we will refer clients to local clothing banks where clothing and toys are available.
The amount we give depends on available funds, which depends on our budget. We try to give gift card amounts which will be helpful to a family of three. Larger families may need to seek additional help elsewhere.
No. It is not our policy to give cash to anyone as it is poor stewardship. Instead, we offer gift cards that only work for fuel at local fuel stations, or groceries at local stores.
Once you complete the application online (or in person) it takes up to 48 hours to approve funds and have them available to you. We know this is a long time, especially if your need is great, but we do not have a staff at our church who can approve or procure funds from the bank any quicker. However, we may have gift cards on hand which we can get to you sooner. It just depends on inventory and available funds. Finally, a staff member may choose to pump your gas or shop for you, which can also be done more quickly. This is entirely at the discretion of available staff (most often the Pastor) and not guaranteed.
There are several churches in Milaca, some of which have benevolence programs. It's best to call around and find out what's available. You can also go to the police station. They offer a limited benevolence program for residents. Finally, check out the local clothing bank. They may have additional resources available to you.
